The Greenville economy faces a troubling trend that requires immediate community action.The Regional Economic Scorecard was created to objectively report on the area's economic vitality.

Income growth has slowed significantly in recent years, and the Greenville area finds itself well behind peer communities such as Charleston, Columbia and Greensboro/Winston-Salem on numerous indicators.

To compete today, Greenville must transition to a more advanced economic growth strategy.

To that end, the Greenville Chamber, in consultation with over 60 local CEO's and community leaders, designed a program of work to ACCELERATE! economic growth. The program employs development strategies recommended in several studies of the Greenville economy and proven successful in other top communities.

ACCELERATE! is a 5-year initiative to execute proven strategies that focus on three high-leverage areas to raise per capita income in the Greenville area:

High-Impact Entrepreneurship
Improving Business Conditions
Attracting and Developing World-Class Talent

With a detailed plan and in partnership with regional economic development allies, ACCELERATE! strives to lead community efforts to address lagging income growth in Greenville.
