In an attempt to recognize outstanding efforts of our members and businesses in the Greenville community, the Greenville Chamber has established awards to recognize such efforts. At its 119th Annual Meeting, the Chamber recognized the following annual award winners:

The 2008 Small Business of the Year Award
Winner:
SynTerra
Qualifications:
Membership in the Chamber, in business for five
years, a for-profit entity locally owned and
managed within the Upstate. The winner is chosen
based on overall success of the business and
evidence of contributions made to the community.

The 2008 Minority Business of the Year Award
Winner:
Talent Management Solutions, LLC
Qualifications: Business must be a Chamber member, a for-profit organization with local ownership, and in business for at least three years. The winner is chosen based on the growth of the business and community involvement.
The 2008 Max Heller Neighborhood Improvement Award
Winner:
Soteria Community Development Corporation
Qualifications:
Organization in Greenville County that makes
significant progress in improving a neighborhood
though physical appearance of the area, human
development of the residents, or other efforts
that improve quality of life.

The 2008 Buck Mickel Award for Business and Community Leadership
Winner:
Knox White, Mayor of the City of Greenville
Qualifications:
This award is given to a local civic leader for
outstanding contributions to the community.
Past winners include Governor Carroll J.
Campbell, Jr., local attorney and
environmentalist Tommy Wyche, Senator Verne
Smith, and former Greenville Mayor Max Heller.

The 2008 Athena Award
Winner:
Judy Prince of USC Upstate
Qualifications:
This award recognizes a business executive
(either male or female) who demonstrates
excellence, creativity and initiative in helping
women reach their full leadership potential.

The 2008 Chairman's Award
Winner:
Sam Konduros of SK Strategies, LLC
Qualifications: This award
recognizes one outstanding individual for his or
her leadership and dedication to the Greenville
Chamber.

The 2008 Young Professional of the Year
Winner:
Cindy Benjamin with Neal Prince + Partners Architects, Inc.
Qualifications: This award is designed to recognize an
individual between the ages of 22 and 39 for his or her involvement in the
community.

Ambassador of the Year Award Winner:
David Chamberlain of Integrity Business Solutions
Qualifications:
This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to
the Chamber's retention efforts by conducting personal visits with members to
discuss their business needs and participation in Chamber activities.
