ReadySC
Formerly referred to as the Center for Accelerated Technology Training
(CATT), ReadySC offers no cost recruitment, screening, testing and
pre-employment training when hiring 15 - 20 workers. On-the-job training
reimbursement is possible when hiring less than 15 new employees. Applicants

Incumbent Worker Training Program Grants
Incumbent Worker Training Program Grants (IWT) provide funding for training
needed in current businesses due to expansion, new technology, retooling,
new services/product lines and new organizational structuring or as part of
a layoff aversion strategy. Applications are reviewed quarterly. To learn

WorkKeys
WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring real-world
skills. It provides:
•Three prong system: job analysis, assessment and upgrade.
•Identifies the Right Person with the Right Skills for the Right Job
•Connects work skills, training and testing for education and employers

•Nationally recognized certification

Enterprise Zone Retraining Act

Recruitment Advertising
Businesses may receive assistance with advertising job positions
through any combination of the following:
•Advertisements and hyperlinks added to the
Greenville County WIB.
•Line ads in the local newspaper (Greenville News).
•Advertisements in a local employment guide (Career Builder).
•Job listings through the Employment Security Commission.
Application Prescreening
Businesses may receive assistance with screening of applications to
ensure minimum job requirements are met. NOTE: Costs for drug testing and
background checks are not permitted.
Job Fair and Interviewing Support
Businesses may reserve space within a One-Stop Career Center to
conduct a job fair and/or to schedule interviews. The following amenities
will be provided: private interviewing rooms, conference room, telephone/fax
and computer/internet access.
Assessments
Applicants may be assessed using a variety of standardized tools:
•Computer Learning Works (CLW) - a comprehensive
package of assessment activities designed to produce information basic
skills aptitudes (reading and mathematics) and interests (employability and
work maturity skills).
•Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) - the most
widely used test for adult basic education and is available in a
pen-and-pencil or online. Provides the most reliable measurement of reading,
mathematics, and language skills for adults.
•WorkKeys® Assessments - Developed by American College
Testing (ACT), WorkKeys® is a job skills assessment system that measures
real-world skills.
•WorkKeys® Job Profiling - a job analysis that helps
identify the skills employees need to be successful on the job.
On-the-Job Training (OJT) funds are offered through the WIB
to enable businesses to reduce their costs for training new workers. The
business may be reimbursed 50% of the gross wages paid to
each eligible worker during their first 6 months (maximum of 26 weeks) of
employment. The worker must be pre-qualified by the WIB prior to the start
of training. An OJT Checklist and Agreement must be completed by the
business.
