Workforce development through the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Foundation
Vision:
The workforce will have the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the business needs of the present and future Upstate SC area. (Build a competitive workforce for the future.)
Mission:
To serve as catalyst and center of collaboration between and among employers, educators, workforce and economic development organizations to address present and future workforce needs in the upstate and implement strategy to address these needs.
Strategic Recommendations:

Collaboration:
-WIA-funded position-United Way funded position liaison to non-profit service providers
-Assessment/collaboration/intake/case management
-Greenville Works Workforce and Economic Development leaders meet to improve collaboration and communication regarding Economic Development customers, workforce needs and services.
-Regular meetings of workforce providers with direct purpose of improving collaboration and delivery of services.
-Regional committee development
-Existing Business visitation program and industry-related focus groups
-WIA services and incentives increase awareness within business community
Expand use of WorkKeys and Apprenticeships:
-WorkKeys education seminars business, non-profit and trainers
-Testing of students (Charter HS, Career Centers, Southside HS, Tech auto
-Students, Generation Group Homes)
-Educating businesses of the incentives available for WorkKeys
-Educating businesses about apprenticeships and available incentives.
Improvements to K-12:
