Professionals United for Leadership and Social Enrichment, PULSE, is a leadership development program of the Greenville Chamber, designed for young professionals (age 22-39) in the Greater Greenville area. PULSE provides outlets for social connection, as well as professional and leadership development opportunities.

In 2003 the Greenville Chamber in collaboration with community leaders and the general public embarked on a comprehensive visioning process intended to identify what improvements should be made to the city in order to reflect the changing times and position Greenville to be a premier American city. One of the struggles highlighted was recruiting and retaining young talent in the region.

In an effort to address the question of how to attract and retain young professional talent, as well as to meet the goals the community has outlined for itself, a volunteer group of young professionals teamed with the Greenville Chamber to develop a program to do just that – PULSE.

PULSE was kicked off in October 2005, and has grown extensively since.

PULSE focuses on both social and leadership/professional development for young talent. The program consists of monthly events for its members, ranging from seminars on topics of interest to young professionals to purely social networking opportunities.  Such activities will serve to connect young professionals to the community and provide them with meaningful opportunities to interact with others in their age group, as well as with business and community leaders.
