Community Involvement Opportunity at YMCA

The YMCA of Greenville is developing a young professionals panel (ages 25-44) to advise its efforts moving forward with long-term planning. The group of young professionals (6-8 needed) will meet with the YMCA’s long-term planning council to share their insights about what is important to them living and working in Greenville County.

The YMCA is committed to providing high-quality, affordable services to singles and families. In order to plan for the next 15 years of facility growth and program outreach, it needs to hear from this growing demographic.

Only two meetings will be required, one with planning staff and a volunteer to discuss the objective of the council and a final meeting to present the panel’s ideas to the entire vision council. If you are interested in participating, please contact Pam Freeland by email.

Investing 101 Seminar Scheduled for May 1

As young professionals, it's easy to dismiss retirement planning as a problem for another day. However, studies show that people who begin a moderate investment strategy in their 20s and 30s are likely to retire earlier and live more comfortably than those who couldn't be bothered to plan for their futures.

Join us for Investing 101, a program of the USC Professional MBA PULSE Leadership Seminar Series, presented by Allen Gillespie of GNI Capital, on Tuesday, May 1 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the University Center. Gillespie will discuss painless – and responsible – ways to start, modify and evaluate your investment strategy.

This seminar is open only to PULSE members, and there is no cost to attend. Click here for more information or to register.
