| Volunteers from Business and Industry Needed for "Opening Doors to Success Day" | ||||||||||||||||||
GRADUATE GREENVILLE will be sponsoring "Opening Doors to Success Day" on Saturday morning, August 25, 2007 in the Berea High School and Greenville High School attendance areas. Volunteers from business and industry are needed to accompany school district personnel on visits to homes of students not returning to school. Volunteers will visit homes in teams of three or four to invite students to return to school. All volunteers must complete a one and a half hours training session prior to participating in the "Opening Doors to Success" walk. | First Annual: Guns & Hoses | ||||||||||||||||||
Oysters on the West End will be hosting its First Annual Guns and Hoses in appreciation of all those in and around the Greenville area who have committed their lives to public service on Saturday, July 21 from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. Located in the parking lot of Oysters on the West End, this event will feature live bands, low country boil, BBQ and plenty of spirits! Competitive contests, games and raffles will be a part of the festivities with a chance to prove which department is Top Dog! So, grab the family and come enjoy some Southern Hospitality with great food, music and friends. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the families of the firefighters whose lives were taken in the Charleston Fire of June 18, 2007. For more information, please call 864-242-0099. |
