YLG students prepare for future careers

Posted by: Megan Campbell on Monday, March 21, 2016

Youth Leadership Greenville, the Greenville Chamber’s intensive 10-month Leadership Development program for high school juniors, strives to provide enriching experiences designed to develop, cultivate and nurture participants’ leadership potential and to get them engaged in Greenville’s future.

One of the ways the program works to accomplish these goals is by connecting participants with the right people. After all, so often who you know matters just as much as what you know.

Though it isn’t required, many participants take advantage of the opportunity to shadow leaders throughout the Greenville community. Check out some of the shadowing experiences these future leaders enjoyed:

Robert Tinsley, Gabbi Wood and Maria Garrido  visited the Cardiovascular Technology Lab at Patewood. Hosts were Eric Walker and Mary Wingold.

Caroline Wilson shadowed Christine Faust of Christine Faust Events.

Elizabeth Dunn shadowed Representative Trey Gowdy, and even attending the Chamber’s Friday Forum event earlier that morning where he was a featured speaker.

We’re proud of the initiative these young leaders have shown and are inspired by their dedication to grow their knowledge, curiosity, and passion for our community.

Thanks also to those who took time out of their busy schedules to allow these students to shadow them. Your willingness to join us in the effort to develop our future leaders is so appreciated!

Encourage our YLG students to keep up the excellent work in the comments below!
