Mo’ Money, Mo’ money, Mo’ Money!

Per capita income measures the average income earned per person in a given area in a specified year. It’s probably not a popular topic on the cocktail circuit, but virtually every family discusses options for making more money on a regular basis. We’re probably having that discussion quite a bit here in Greenville, considering our per capita income ($43,132) is $5,000 below the national average. Raising our average income to the national average would result in an additional $2.5 billion to our local economy, which would substantially improve our tax base, leading to improvements to our infrastructure and schools. Rising per capita income also means that more people have better jobs paying higher wages and salaries. Check out the strategies the Chamber has identified to expand our talent pool, grow our workforce, and get more people making more money!

Accelerate is Greenville's private sector-fueled economic development initiative, designed to prepare our community for tomorrow.
