My name is Jaeyden Hill-Mims and I proudly say that I was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, the epitome of southern hospitality and a city on the rise. I am 17 years old and a senior at Greenville Senior High school. At Greenville I take all advanced Placement, Honors, and college courses through USC Columbia. My favorite classes are AP Language and AP US Government because of the stimulating topics we can freely discuss. I have a passion for an intellectual debate, which drives my desire to be a criminal defense attorney. When I graduate, my intended major is Political Science and my top choices for college are USC, Wofford or Furman. I then want to continue my education with law school.
I am also an athlete and basketball is a huge part of my life. I have been playing since I was 8 years old and began to compete competitively on a national traveling team my 7th grade year. I have been awarded MVP, All Region, All conference, and Hustler award throughout my high school career. From playing the sport it has given me the characteristics of being a team player, having endurance through adversity and being “coachable” to any adjustments and criticism. Alongside athletics, I am the Founder and President of the Diversity Club at my school. I enjoy reading, writing, volunteering and spending time with my family as well as my new 8-week puppy, Thor.
On the weekends I can be found working at Skyzone trampoline Park. I love working there and getting to work with kids. I volunteer heavily with children by being a camp counselor at Holliday Hoops Basketball summer camp and my high school’s hosted kiddie basketball camp. Those camps are the highlight of my summer and I get excited every year to be apart of them and to get to make them happen.
I am truly honored to be given this opportunity to work at Greenville Chamber and to be able to meet so many extraordinary people and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. I firmly believe my internship under the Marketing Department at Greenville Chamber will grant me the necessary experience and open doors for my bright upcoming future.
