SYNNEX keeping the focus on employee safety, helping small business partners

For the past 65+ days, SYNNEX Corporation with offices off Pelham Road in Greenville has been grappling with many of the same issues faced by companies across Greenville and the Upstate – protecting the health and safety of its employees, sustaining its business and assisting its customer partners, many of which are small and medium-sized businesses.

As a Fortune #130 company with more than 200,000 employees around the globe and $23.8 billion in revenue, the scale of the challenge is just that much larger, said Bob Stegner, Senior Vice President, Marketing, North America.

From Day One the company has maintained its focus on helping their small and medium-sized customers find a path forward. SYNNEX values each of them as business partners and as family. As an IT company providing collaborative work solutions built on innovative technology from the world’s leading vendors, SYNNEX rapidly moved to ensure the vast majority of its employees could work from home and then worked with its customers to help them do the same.

The focus has been on communication – both listening to their customers’ concerns and answering their questions, Stegner said. SYNNEX has doubled down on training for its small and medium-sized customers while providing financial support to help them weather the storm through tools like extended payment terms.

During this unprecedented period of uncertainty, Stegner said, there is one thing that remains constant – SYNNEX’ unwavering commitment to Greenville.

SYNNEX annually hosts several large conferences that bring thousands of participants to Greenville each year, fill hotels and pump hundreds of thousands of dollars into the local economy. In addition, the company brings thousands to Greenville for regular training sessions and corporate meetings at the campus on Pelham Ridge Drive. Once travel resumes, those visitors will once again enjoy Greenville and its many amenities while staying at hotels and enjoying the local bars and restaurants.

Until then, Stegner said, company executives have made a point to support local Greenville businesses whenever possible, even from afar. And SYNNEX is continuing its sponsorship of the Greenville Chamber Golf Tournament on Oct. 26.

“Our goal is to get things back to some semblance of normal as quickly as possible so that we can fully support the locally-owned restaurants and retailers in Greenville,” Stegner said. “We cannot wait for that day to come.”
