Help wanted. Talent needed. Workforce woes. You probably know that the number one problem facing business in the Upstate of South Carolina is talent. Do you also know that we have solutions all around us? The Greenville Chamber is taking a deep dive into understanding education and workforce challenges to help our community bridge individual and employer needs. Our goal is to increase educational attainment for working aged adults. What does that mean exactly? We want Greenville citizens to have the credentials, certifications, or degrees needed to advance their career, meet employer needs, and increase economic mobility for all.
To inform this work, the Greenville Chamber is partnering with Bridging the Talent Gap (BTTG) to survey local business and industry with the goal of understanding current and future job and educational needs. The nationally normed, confidential survey will help identify skill shortages and education needs in the Upstate of South Carolina and inform future strategies to increase economic mobility, equity, and prosperity for all Greenville citizens.
Data drives action.
When survey results become available in late fall of 2021, employers will be able to access interactive dashboards with data that reflect talent gap information in the local employer ecosystem, as well as custom reports to compare their business to others across the nation. The survey gives employers a voice and helps Greenville ensure we develop lasting solutions for increasing educational attainment, meeting talent needs, and making sure our area has a skilled and educated workforce. The Greenville Chamber and its partners will use the data and insights gathered through the survey to develop effective, targeted talent development solutions and work with employers and educators to implement practices and programs to strengthen their business.
The employer survey is open from July 20th – September 1st. Join the over 100 businesses that have completed the survey. Take 15-minutes to provide your feedback today!
