Ghisela Eljach, the creator of InSouth Magazine, moved to Greenville in 2000 after experiencing South Carolina while on vacation. 

After living and working in the Upstate for fifteen years, Ghisela realized she wanted to get back to her roots by working with the ever growing Hispanic population in Greenville. With a passion for marketing, editorial work, and connecting people within the community, InSouth Magazine was created. 

“As an immigrant, it’s hard to start from zero,” Ghisela mentioned. “My heart is to help people who were like me at 19 years old who are starting with nothing. I know how that feels, and I want to help.” 

InSouth is a bilingual publication that focuses on connecting two worlds and cultures through food, arts, culture, events, auto, beauty, wellness, education, and more to educate and entertain readers. When moving to a new country, communication and messaging is important, and Ghisela enjoys combining visual arts with unique stories to give back to the Hispanic community.

As an online and printed publication directed to Latino men and women ages 25 to 55, InSouth brings topics of interest to those integrating into a new culture, lifestyle, and finding work opportunities in this country. 

Along with topics of interest, InSouth brings interviews to local business and non-profit organizations as well as national and international celebrities. 

InSouth Magazine's online version offers daily content of interest under the categories mentioned above, with over 225k visitors in 2021 and so far with over 165k visitors in the first quarter of 2022. The articles are in Spanish with the option to be translated to English. 

While there are other amazing publications in the Upstate, InSouth is proud to be the only one that offers a bilingual experience with their digital and print media with a wide reach to those in our local Hispanic communities. Ultimately, InSouth’s goal is to help the local community understand and appreciate Latin culture by informing, entertaining, and growing together.
