The Greenville Chamber partnered with The Blood Connection, The City of Greenville and The Greenville Drive to host a blood drive at Fluor Field for National Blood Donor month. Throughout the day, 92 people successfully donated blood. 25 of those people were first-time donors.
With those donations, up to 276 lives were saved right here in the Upstate. The Blood Connections is the only blood provider to Upstate hospitals, including AnMed Health, Bon Secours Mercy Health, Prisma, Spartanburg Regional and others.
The selfless act of donating blood can change up to three people's lives. Since blood cannot be replicated, it must be donated out of the kindness of someone's heart, right here in this community. If everyone that was eligible donated blood twice per year, there would never be a blood shortage.
