The 2023 Buck Mickel Leadership Award was awarded to Stewart Spinks for his philanthropic endeavors and professional accomplishments over the past 51 years of The Spinx Company. He accepted the award at the 135th Greenville Chamber Annual Meeting, presented by TD Bank.

Stewart Spinks founded The Spinx Company in 1972 in Greenville, South Carolina. Today the company employs more than 1,500 people with 86 stores in North and South Carolina. Stewart has always been committed to giving back to the community and through the Spinks Family Foundation has donated more than $30 Million to local charities to date.

The Buck Mickel Leadership Award, sponsored by Duke Energy, honors those who have dramatically impacted the community by playing a leadership role in solving critical community issues, strengthening the community or providing visionary leadership to a major community development project.

Buck Mickel, was respected as a giant in the Greenville community and the world of commerce, but he was an even bigger person when it came to helping others. Each year, the Greenville Chamber presents the Buck Mickel Leadership Award in his honor.
