A holistic wellness center specifically for curvy women, My Curvy Wellness is “a place where women can be seen and heard and have a safe space to tap into whatever they need,” says founder Dr. Sherian Wells. “When you walk in these doors, you are in a place of peace and tranquility. I want all your senses to tap into a certain frequency of relaxation and health,” she says.

Wells, a board-certified holistic health practitioner, draws on her own health and wellness journey to help women pursue their path to health and well-being. “I am a curvy wellness professional,” she says. “I will never be a size 2, and I will never contort into a pretzel at yoga. But I am a person who lives holistically. I understand the principles profoundly, and I know how they can change your life.

“People may think holistic health has to be one particular box – maybe herbs, or eating organically, or using all-natural products. But really, it is all that and more,” she says. “We start off with a wellness visit, with me listening to you. You tell me your story, what you’ve experienced in health, in life, with your family. When you are healing holistically, it’s about mind, body and spirit.”

Wells then builds a customized plan and protocol for each patient, which might include supplements or products created specifically for them. “Nothing is cookie-cutter,” Wells says, “because nobody is the same.” My Curvy Wellness offers women self-care in all its forms – exercise and nutrition, beauty treatments, classes and more. Wells treats patients with fertility issues, autoimmune diseases, cancer, anxiety and depression.

“It may look a little different from your traditional health care practice,” she says, “but it’s about taking care of yourself, diving into self-care, which we as women often don’t do.”

A second center is now open in Greenville, in addition to the original Spartanburg location. Wells also has a successful line of products and supplements, some of which recently debuted as featured items in Walmart stores.
