My name is Ian Areke and I am the new LaunchGVL Project Intern for the 2025-2026 year.

I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya and moved to the United States when I was just 5 years old. Throughout my life I fell in love with technology. I love learning how things work when put together and I love coding and building robots. Working with technology has been an integral part of my journey and I hope to utilize my skills to achieve success in life. In my free time I play soccer for the Fountain Inn High School team, and I'm an active member of the National Honors Society.

Outside of School I enjoy spending time with my family especially when we go on vacation to the beach or back home in Kenya. I also enjoy playing soccer with my friends out in the field or in my backyard practicing.

I'm happy to be a part of the Greenville Chamber, and I can't wait to learn more about this amazing organization.
