The Greenville Chamber presented its inaugural Excellence in Public Service Award to Butch Kirven at the Annual State of Greenville event on the morning of August 13th. The award recognized Kirven for his outstanding leadership and unwavering advocacy for local businesses.
Butch Kirven, first elected to Greenville County Council in 2004, has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the prosperity of Greenville County through thoughtful planning, strategic improvements, and economic development initiatives. As chairman-pro-tem and chair of the Finance Committee, Kirven has been instrumental in guiding key projects that help businesses across the county flourish.
Kirven’s policy priorities strongly align with the Greenville Chamber’s advocacy agenda, including championing major infrastructure projects, supporting workforce and entrepreneurial growth, and supporting policies that enhance competitiveness and ensure a business-friendly climate in Greenville County.
The award was presented at the Greenville Chamber’s Annual State of Greenville program which brought together 250+ business leaders to hear a local update from Mayor Knox White and Greenville County Council Chairman Benton Blount, as well as an economic outlook update from Thomas Barkin, President & CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
Hereafter, the Excellence in Public Service Award will be named the Butch Kirven Excellence in Public Service Award.
