More about Sara McAda:

A proud wife, mother, and lifelong “helper,” I have dedicated my career to uplifting others through business, education, and community service. As a Greenville native raised by a single mother, I take great pride in being a first-generation college graduate — earning my bachelor’s degree from Lander University in 2016 and my MBA from Southern Wesleyan University in 2020. I currently serve as engagement manager at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and as an adjunct instructor at Lander University. In both roles, I am passionate about empowering others — whether it’s supporting local businesses in building stronger community ties or helping students gain the skills and confidence needed for long-term success. I continue to hold a license as a Community Residential Care Facility Administrator, in addition to multiple health care certifications.

Your favorite quote and why:

“Fail to plan, plan to fail.”

This is my favorite quote because I’m a big believer in having a plan. I like to think ahead and always try to be prepared, even for the unexpected. Having a plan gives me a sense of direction and helps me stay focused when things don’t go as expected.

What is your definition of a successful leader?

My definition of a successful leader is someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. Someone who leads by example. Someone whose actions match their words.

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

I would tell myself that the journey isn’t linear. Everything has a season — some shorter than others — some planned and some unexpected. Find beauty in every season you are in and embrace it!
