ATHENA Award

ABOUT THE AWARD

Through the Chamber’s association with ATHENA International since 2001, the Chamber has recognized and honored women in leadership with the ATHENA Leadership Award®. This prestigious award is presented at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting to women who have made significant contributions to Greenville in promoting community prosperity and quality of life. The ATHENA Award is a nationwide program designed to honor women who strive toward their highest level of accomplishment and leadership.

The ATHENA Award® was inspired by the goddess of Greek mythology known for her strength, courage, wisdom and enlightenment—qualities embodied in the ATHENA leadership model. The Award is unique in both scope—local, national and international—and the ATHENA mission upon which it is based.  The ATHENA Award was presented at the Greenville Chamber’s Annual Meeting on May 11, 2022.
