Meet the Speaker

Steve Nail

Steve Nail joined Anderson University in 2016 as the dean of the College of Business. In the time he has been here, he has redeveloped the internship program, created several mentoring programs, as well as implemented changes to the strategic direction of the business programs, including undergraduate and graduate studies. He is engaged in many corporate initiatives, Enactus activities, and serves on the Board of the Society of Human Resource Management.

Before joining Anderson University, Nail served as the Vice President of Human Resources for Hubbell Lighting in Greenville, South Carolina. He was responsible for all HR-related matters for over 30 Hubbell manufacturing facilities and two corporate headquarter buildings.

Major accomplishments include overseeing the restructuring of the corporation from 16 companies into one, designing the current leadership structure of the organization, policy development (including flex scheduling, compressed work weeks, part-time and telecommuting), 32 union contracts successfully negotiated, succession/career development planning process, mentoring and internship program development and extensive employee relations activities.

In 2012 Dean Nail was named the South Carolina Human Resource Professional of the Year by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the South Carolina Society for Human Resource Professionals. In 2016, he was given the Lifetime Achievement award by the Greenville Society for Human Resources Professionals.
