National Police Week will take place from Sunday, May 10, through Saturday, May 16, 2026. During this week, we are inviting local businesses to help show visible support for our law enforcement community. Peace Officer Memorial Day, observed on May 15, honors law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. 

One of the most meaningful ways to participate is by displaying positive messages on your business marquee, signage, or digital boards. Simple words of appreciation, remembrance, and encouragement can serve as powerful reminders to officers that their service is seen, valued, and supported. And more importantly, doing so reaffirms our commitment to never forget the fallen or their families.

Businesses may also choose to offer special discounts or small tokens of appreciation, similar to what is often done for the military on Veterans Day.

Our goal is to create a community-wide show of support so that law enforcement officers feel appreciated throughout their daily routines, even in places where they might not typically expect it. This is needed now more than ever!

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
