Kenny Johnson, Operations Director at the Prisma Health Family YMCA in Simpsonville, recently shared his team's experience with the LaunchGVL program and why they plan to keep hiring through LaunchGVL. Read more below.
For the past three years, the partnership between the YMCA and the LaunchGVL program has been nothing short of exceptional.
Through this collaboration, the YMCA has been able to fill key positions within our program departments, while LaunchGVL has provided its students with valuable job readiness skills they can carry into any future career.
This partnership has been a tremendous asset. Students arrive at the interview process already screened, knowledgeable about the requirements, and eager to strengthen their communication skills in one-on-one conversations with our Program Directors. As a result, we have consistently welcomed top-talented youth who help us advance our mission and deliver high-quality programming.
We value these interns so much that, in many cases, we have been able to hire them into part-time positions once their 40 hours in the program have been completed. This ongoing relationship continues to benefit both our organization and the students we serve, creating a true win-win for the community.
Learn more about LaunchGVL and learn how to get involved here. If you're an employer looking to hire an intern for the Spring, reach out to Lori Hoyer, LaunchGVL Business Development and Partnerships Coordinator.
