The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs. We are the recognized leader in helping more people better anticipate, survive and recover from disasters. We also teach Community Disaster Education in the community to provide disaster safety and preparedness information.
The American Red Cross is the recognized premier provider of health and safety education programs. Program areas include: First Aid, CPR, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training.
Men and women serving in the Armed Forces depend on the Red Cross to provide emergency communications between them and their families, and we do this 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
