Julie Valentine Center formerly known as Greenville Rape Crisis and Child Abuse Center (GRCCAC) following a 2001 merger of the Greenville Sexual Trauma Center (founded in 1974), Prevent Child Abuse Greenville (PCAG, founded 1981) and the Greenville Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC, founded 1998).

It is the agency’s mission to stop sexual violence and child abuse and the impact of these crimes through prevention, collaboration, investigation, treatment and advocacy. Julie Valentine Center’s programs include support during sexual assault exams in the emergency room, coordination of a multi-disciplinary team response to child abuse including forensic medical exams and forensic assessments, therapy and support groups for child, teen and adult survivors of sexual assault and child abuse, child-friendly space for law enforcement interviews, community education and parenting classes for all levels of child abuse prevention (primary, secondary and tertiary).
