RIZE Prevention is a public health nonprofit dedicated to equipping youth and their families with the tools they need to make healthy, addiction-free choices. Our flagship program, iRIZE, is an evidenced, school-based prevention program that is recognized, respected and supported by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services agency (SAMHSA), Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) HIDTA program, Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA), and the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE). At RIZE Prevention, we believe prevention is intervention. Prevention and early intervention go hand in hand—stopping addiction before it starts by addressing the root causes that push youth toward substances. The reality is that addiction in the U.S. is often sparked when someone is in their youth. It is fueled by normalized experimentation, unchallenged self-medication, and unmet emotional and mental health needs.
