GREEN CHARTER SCHOOLS ANNOUNCES FOUNDING PRINCIPAL FOR GREEN CHARTER SCHOOL SIMPSONVILLE

Greenville, SCGREEN Charter Schools is pleased to announce that Maria Werner has joined its team. Maria will serve as the founding Principal of GREEN’s newest school, GREEN Charter School Simpsonville. The school will open in the 2024-2025 school year, serving families in the upstate of South Carolina offering grades K-8 at buildout. The school will be located in Simpsonville with the exact location to be announced soon.

Maria received a B.A. in Elementary Education from Coastal Carolina University and an M.Ed. in Principalship and Educational Administration and Supervision from Clemson University. She has served as an elementary classroom teacher and administrator and as an educational consultant for 21st century learning practices. She is currently an Adjunct Instructor in the College of Education at North Greenville University. Maria is proud to have called Simpsonville home since 2001. An avid tennis player, she and her husband have two young sons and are very active in the community.

Maria stated, “I am overjoyed to join GREEN in the role of Principal of GREEN Simpsonville and to be a part of the growth of GREEN Charter Schools. By prioritizing confidence, character, and leadership development, we will empower our students to not only excel academically, but also to navigate the complexities of the modern world with resilience and integrity.”
GREEN’s Executive Director, Tom Cronin stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Maria Werner as the Founding Principal of GREEN Charter School Simpsonville. She is highly qualified for this position and arrives with great enthusiasm, a love of Simpsonville, and a deep understanding of the community. We know she will bring dynamic leadership to this role and ensure our students are educated in a true culture of care.”
